Double-Hung Windows
The most popular replacement window in Colorado. A double hung window opens at either the top or the bottom, and both sashes tilt in so you can clean the outside glass from inside the house.
Sliding Windows
A horizontal slider window, where both sashes glide sideways on a track. A good fit for wide openings and for rooms where a crank or an outward swing would get in the way.
Casement Windows
Replacement casement windows are hinged at the side and crank outward, so the sash seals tight against the frame when closed. That makes them the most air-tight style we build, which matters on a windy Front Range winter day. Internal screen included.
Awning Windows
Hinged at the top and opening outward, so an awning window sheds rain while it is open. Often paired above or below a picture window to add ventilation without losing the view.
Hopper Windows
The standard basement window. A hopper is hinged at the bottom and opens inward, with an external screen. Ask us about egress requirements if the basement is a finished living space.
Picture Windows
A fixed picture window does not open, which means fewer places for air to leak and the largest possible expanse of glass. The usual choice for framing a mountain view.
Bay Windows

Bow Windows

Glass package

What is the difference between double-pane and triple-pane glass?
A double pane window has two panes of glass with an insulating space between them. A triple-pane window adds a third pane and a second insulating space, which improves both thermal performance and noise reduction. The trade-off is weight and cost. In a Colorado climate, with cold winters and intense high-altitude sun, the extra pane earns its keep for most homeowners.
What should I look for on a window energy label?
Look for the NFRC label, which reports U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient. A lower U-factor means the window loses less heat, which is what matters most through a Front Range winter. Do the windows come with screens?
Operable windows come with screens. Casement windows use an internal screen, hopper windows use an external screen, and double hung and slider windows use a screen on the operating sash. Fixed picture windows do not open, so they do not need one.
